Ply drums may be used for snares or kits. We suggest 6-ply shells of maple construction for tom shells and 8-ply for bass drums. We prefer drums without reinforcing rings and no tom mounts attached directly to the shell. Toms will be mounting using RIMs mounts with your choice of hardware.

Ply drums are an excellent choice for drum kits as they will be lighter and more durable than a stave drum set. Ply snares are a more affordable alternative than stave snares, but offer fewer options and limited performance.

Ply drums are available in mahogany, birch, or maple.
